Volunteer With Us
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help us support our families and programs! Whether you have a few hours to spare each week or just want to help out occasionally, there’s a place for you.
Helping With Laundry
We’re looking for volunteers to help with laundry after donation drop-offs! Once items are sorted, we need extra hands to wash and prepare them so they’re ready to wear for the families we serve through our Resource Boutiques. Your time and care will make a direct impact by ensuring foster families receive clean, quality items with dignity.
Sort & Organize Donations
Donation Sorting - As donations come in, we need helping hands to sort through them, ensuring everything meets our criteria for our resource boutiques. This takes place at our donation center in Bay City, and we need volunteers three days a week. Whether you can come regularly or just now and then, your support makes a big difference!

Organizing Donations - With the volume of donations we receive, especially during the holiday season and spring, we sometimes need extra help organizing everything. If you enjoy creating order out of chaos, this is a great way to lend a hand during our busiest times!
Cleaning & Maintenance
A clean, welcoming space is so important for the families we serve. We need volunteers to help keep our Bay City headquarters and Midland Outpost looking their best. Whether you prefer working behind the scenes or as part of a team, we’d love to have you join us!
PALS - Card Writing
Want to volunteer from the comfort of your home? Our PALS program is a wonderful way to brighten a foster child’s day by writing birthday, encouragement, and holiday cards to youth in residential care across the state. This is a flexible opportunity that helps fight loneliness and spreads kindness when it’s needed most.
In addition to supporting foster youth, writing cards to foster care workers or foster parents can have a profound impact. These caregivers often navigate immense challenges, and a simple message of appreciation can remind them that their hard work and dedication are seen and valued.
Prayer Team
Join our Prayer Team and help cover the work of Foster Families NRC in prayer. We believe this mission is sustained through God’s guidance and the faithful prayers of our community for the children, families, and workers we serve.
Special Events
We host a variety of events throughout the year—fundraisers, awareness campaigns, packing events, and more—and we need volunteers to help make them a success! These are perfect for those who want to get involved but can’t commit to a regular schedule. We always provide plenty of notice, so you can plan ahead!
Special Projects
Every now and then, we have unique projects that require extra hands. These might include preparing for events, creating posters and cards for foster care workers during National Hospitality Week, or working on projects at our center. We do our best to give advance notice so volunteers can plan their time accordingly.

Group Volunteer

Are you a part of a small group at your church, a community group, have volunteer team hours at work? We have projects for you!
